Brite Divinity School - Jewish Studies Opening

Brite Divinity School, affiliated with Texas Christian University, invites applicants for an Assistant Professor appointment to the Rosalyn and Manny Rosenthal Professorship of Jewish Studies, a tenure track position. Field: history and literature of Early Judaism, with particular focus on the texts of Qumran, Pseudepigrapha, Apocrypha/Deuterocanonical Books, Josephus, and Philo. The candidate must be Jewish with demonstrated excellence in teaching and a proven record in research and publications. The appointment will be made to the faculty of BDS (masters and PhD levels) with one course per year in the University’s Religion Department (undergraduate). Brite Divinity School - Homiletics Position

Brite Divinity School, affiliated with Texas Christian University, invites applicants in the fall of 2009 for a tenure track position in Homiletics beginning in the fall of 2010. Level of appointment is as an Assistant Professor. Ph.D. or equivalent is required. Previous parish experience including regular preaching responsibilities preferred. Commitment to teaching and scholarly research is expected. Teaching load is four courses per year at masters and doctoral levels. A capacity for critical and imaginative engagement with other theological disciplines in support of excellence in preaching is expected. Brite Divinity School is a seminary related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
