Dr. Roy Melugin has received degrees from McMurry University (B.A. [1959]),
Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (B.D. [1962]), and
Yale University (M.A. [1965] and Ph.D. [1968]). He has also studied at the
University of Toronto (1962-63), the University of Heidelberg (1973-74), and at
the Claremont Graduate University (Fall 1980 and 1987-88). He taught at Austin College
(1967-99, retiring there after 16 years as the Gould H. and Marie Cloud Professor of
Religion). Since 1999 he has been Research Professor of Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity
School. He is known nationally and internationally as a
leading Isaiah scholar.
