Duane R. Bidwell, Ph.D., directs the Pastoral Care and Training Center
[www.brite.tcu.edu/pastoralcare] and teaches in the department of Pastoral
Theology and Pastoral Counseling. The Center, which is dually accredited by

students at the divinity school, and research in pastoral theology, care, and
counseling to benefit the church and the broader community. Duane is
passionate about the formation of pastors, pastoral counselors, spiritual
directors, and lay caregivers for postmodern ministry, and he often teaches
and preaches in local congregations.
A minister of the Presbyterian Church
(USA), a certified pastoral counselor, and a licensed spiritual director,
Duane lectures and publishes frequently in the areas of pastoral theology,
pastoral care, pastoral counseling, and spiritual direction. He also
