After graduation from the M.J. Neeley School of Business at TCU, Cathy worked as a Marketing Assistant for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. In 1996 she returned to TCU to work as a member of the University Advancement staff until 2002. In 2002, Cathy assumed the position of Director of Development for the Dallas Zoological Society. She held that position until March 31, 2004. Cathy joined the Advancement staff for Brite in mid-April 2004 as the Capital Campaign Director.

Cathy is active in many Fort Worth causes including the Fort Worth Junior League, Fort Worth Jr. Woman's Club, Alliance for Infant Survival and The Barnaby Club of Fort Worth. Cathy was recently recognized in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as a finalist for 2004 Woman of the Year; her other recognitions include 40 Under 40: 2003 and recognition as one of the Great Woman of Texas in 2002.
